Heads between generations

I want to keep it tight and sweet!

Will the heads from a newer generation fit on a first generation cases?

Reading some of the other technical postings on here I have found people talking about the abnormal sounds coming from there first Gen bikes.
That it was not all but some to more.
I might have kept the engine in the upper rev limits for a while on the highway!
She can really scoot. The sound the weight power delivery the steadiness! It tracks so well and I can put it where I want to when I want to!
Anyway the other day I went for a tootle and the sound from the top end was not to my liking during start up. I checked the oil and it looks good and feels good. Some machines are known to be chatter boxes I don't want to end up with a off the shelf chatter box because of valve guides. The top end will have to be looked over and IF that is the big IF I do have to replace valves, springs, guides or what not I might as well change out the whole head if applicable for a newer generation head if the heads fit and have a better flow.

Anyone able to answer some of these questions would be awesome!

Your problem is most likely a bad cam chain tensioner unit, causing cam chain noise. Change the cct first before worrying about anything else in the head.

What @Bernie said.

Absolutely what Bernie and Redfish said. Rattle noises are most likely CCT, ticking can be injectors.
