Iam sure it’s been well documented here but being a newbie I thought I would throw out a little reminder...I checked the screws that hold the lock assembly together for the bags on my ‘16 They were barely finger tight put blue loctite on them and snugged them up. Not a huge deal if you have the “security” torx bit
passx and Damir like this.

Excellent catch Griff, gotta do that, after all the years the fjr has been produced you’d think they’d get that right by now, thanks for the reminder, should be rechecked periodically.

When I was a track-a-holic on my R1 & R6, I used to think that the FJR was an old man's bike. Then I got one and absolutely love it. Hey...wait a minute!

Well known issue, yes. If you want to replace the screws with something else, M3 x 10mm I believe.

Autozone sells a little set of security bits in a rubber strip for around $3. That’s what I bought. Dealer assembly on my 18 sucked like it did on my 14. Loctiting those screws was the first thing I did when I got home with the bike.

No commercials. No dictators.

Even with blue locktite, mine still came loose. It took ten yrs to do it but nonetheless, I would not have caught it had I not checked them once in a while. Good reminder!

And don't forget to check top case locks too!
