Garage
I haven’t been able to get out on the bike since I put the LEDs in, and it’s currently snowing out with 4” on the ground so far. I doubt the bike will leave the garage anytime soon, unfortunately.

My headlights, duplicates of yours, are scheduled to arrive today.

How many times have you started the bike just to look at the lites?

Correction: Just arrived.

Just a follow-up..... my project bike had LED headlamps installed, an earlier version of Cyclops, which have no shields to create a cut-off line. They just blasted out light everywhere and lit up the overhead signs......

By comparison, the following photo shows the Evitek G6 on the right, which I've had in my '14 for a couple of years. These were the pioneer in adding cut-off shields, prompted by an electrical engineer friend on another forum. They weren't perfect, with a little stray light, but a pretty decent pattern. You can rotate the bulb within the holder to create a sweep up to the right for anywhere one drives on the right side of the road.

The LED's on the left are the F2's, which you can see have placed the LED's much closer to where an actual H4/9003 halogen filament would be, therefore much closer to DOT but not technically compliant to DOT. These too can be rotated to sweep up to the right or left to suit the country you're driving in. The bulb holder has a ball detent that stays within a groove, or can be clicked into one of the holes (every 45 degrees, but not sure why they would do that or need that). The fans are open to the rear but I don't see a problem with that. I just replaced the G6's into the project bike and of course, the F2's went into my '14.

What am I missing? To me the bulbs in the top and the bulbs in the bottom pic look the same and none of them have a "cut-off shield".

Did not read the entire thread,
F2 is a good bulb, a little pricy compared to many useless LED bulbs. If you can wait Aliexpress is best price.

My crappy pictures, Russ, should have rotated the bulbs so you can see the shields better..... try this, look at the chromey things on the side of the tips. The G6 has them also, the Cyclops has none.

Thanks! I guess I'm just used to seeing the giant shield on 4-wheeled vehicles.

Brian,

Did you ever have a chance to test your bulbs.
Have not had time to mess with mine.
