F2 has more lumens and is a tad closer to DOT beam pattern. You won't be sorry if you had the G6's either. I'm waiting to hear about his test results for the newer ones that claim to be DOT compliant.
Could you post a URL to specific site to buy what you are recommending.

+1, glad we finally got some definitive links. I get mighty confused sometimes. I might try the F2 next time I need to replace headlight bulbs and see if they're better than my fave halogens. It was hard to justify when the LEDs were so expensive but I see the prices have come down a lot.

I also agree with a previous poster about adding additional lighting on the rear instead of switching to LED. I've ridden with both on FJRs and though the factory LED look brighter, that is only from directly behind. If you get in the next lane they're no better, sometimes worse IMHO, than regular bulbs. I use an Admore light bar, it really lights up the night & I get nothing but compliments especially in the rain. A few install pics -> https://www.fjrowners.com/forums/417362-post29.html

One thing I am worrying about: the stock bulbs have a rubber boot that covers the base of the bulbs to keep moisture out of the headlight housing. Do those fit on the LEDs or do the LEDs seal well enough by themselves?

Time spent looking at motorcycles, even Harleys, is never wasted.

The rubber boots are re-used..... assume you got it apart and old headlamp bulb out.... first you separate the mount flange from the LED by twisting anti-clockwise, then install the mount flange where the original headlamp bulb was. Now reinstall the rubber boot, then reinstall the LED into the mount flange... if it is too snug to push in and twist, you may have to trim a slight amount off the rubber boot. No worries, no affect on function.

I forgot to ask my other question: how is the Evitek beam pattern?

The Evitek G6's were one of the first with the shields to keep the low beam cutoff reasonably flat but weren't perfect. I'm running those now, and they're just fine, a lot more light at night too.
The F2's are more compliant and have more lumens, have a fan that is open to the rear. You can adjust the cutoff by rotating the bulb within the mount if necessary. I"m just hanging in there to see what comes up with testing of those claiming to be DOT compliant.... it's early in that game.
