Wink 10,300 mile thank you!

I'm a new FJR rider. Purchased my first FJR (a 2014) in June of this year at age 72. I truly must say "thank you" to many of you for your postings in my decision to buy an FJR.
I finished a 10,300 mile, 35 day solo trip this summer to the four corner states riding almost entirely 2 lane roads and "scenic byways". I had been a Honda ST1100 rider for the last two decades (a couple BMWs and two Gold Wings thrown in). When a dealer suggested I look at an FJR when I was in getting some work done on my ST1100--I really had not even heard of a FJR!
Some research into magazine reviews on the web--and many of your posts--I got the impression, from many of you, I was reading some accounts by a very dedicated and enthusiastic group of people--about a pretty special motorcycle!
So--Thanks again for making an item on my bucket list become a great trip for me. The FJR ran flawlessly the whole trip with two oil changes and one new set of tires. The cruise control was one of the major reasons I purchased--and one of the reasons I love the bike so much. I have over 20,000 miles on the bike in the first 5 months--looking forward to many more!

Sounds like a great trip, Jim! I did something similar in the summer of '13, when I was 70. I called it my "Epic Post-Retirement Ride to Alaska, The Four Corners of the US, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Labrador." My ride was 21,000 miles in 80 days. I did it on my '10 Honda NT700VA, and I agree that the cruise control makes a huge difference on a trip like that.

Welcome Jim. Doing the 4 corners on 2 lane roads, must have been a great experience! Something I've had my sights on for years, but haven't tried. Would like to do it it this coming spring, but first would like to pick your brain.

If you don't mind I'll send you a PM with some questions? I'm also 72 and want to scratch stuff off my bucket list before it is too late. Thanks and ride on!

Paul

Pictures-certainly-with a wife at home--I had to take "some pictures"! I would pull off on the shoulder of the road and whip out my I Phone-and take a picture. I have no idea how to post a picture-I'm new at this posting-not even sure this message will return to you.

Pick my brain-you are welcome to! I have received many helpful ideas from this site-the least I can do is share some back. I am certainly not an expert-but with the planning I did and a great bike--I had a truly tremendous time!
