Detailed it and inspected the rim for any damage. Rode all day in the twisties yesterday and of course back in the good old ATL, two young women in a beat up old car merged me ALMOST dead into a median curb. Thankfully I’ve been a mountain biker and motorcycle rider for quite awhile and was able to contort my body so only a teeny part of the (thankfully) beveled curb touched my wheel. Man, i let them have the full wrath at the next light.

Wife and rode back roads for several hours today after the rain stopped and streets dried of it was nice outside. Moving the trunk back 4" gave us more room and I mounted the Sargent front seat to lowest position. That sure helped at stop lights with a passenger and more ankle room under side fairing for Hiway pegs. Had a fun Fathers Day.

Changed out the front brake signal wire. Not too bad of an operation.

See the pictures at the bottom of this page made it a lot easier as to where it connected had to figure out how to get that fairing piece under the windshield, there are two screws under the middle piece that need to come out, then it just pops out.

Swapped out my car tire with a bike tire. I have a spare Rim so it's pretty easy. Also ordered a new rear tire, a Michelin Pilot Power 2CT.

Well I did the dreaded cam chain tensioner on my 08 FJR today. 55650 miles on unit. I have looked at it a few times and saw no “Green Dot”, so I bought one a few weeks ago. Thanks to all those who have gone before me for there posts of problems and solutions. Found a little short 8mm in the bottom of tool box that worked perfect (35 year old wrench). Using a Magnet and slotted the 10 mm bolt that plugs adjuster to was very helpful! Zip tied cam chain to keep from loosing a tooth or two. My wife tells me need clean jeans but I’m having a beer and listing to Waylon. This thread is very helpful again. The new adjuster was a little different length, which was mentioned in a thread. I turned over with a 14 mm socket a few time and everything felt smooth. Put back together and fired it up of 10 minutes. I swear it sounds quieter! Again thanks all you “Yoda’s” going before me and writing of your problems and solutions.

Ugh, I've seen this pop up a couple of times now. I just bought a Gen 1 (2005), so unless the previous owner did it, it looks like this is going to be my first big repair on the bike. Glad to find out this way though, rather than the hard way.

Oops -- "this" being the tensioner replacement.

Went for a leisurely ride with the bike tire. I've had the car tire on for 14K miles so I "felt the need" if you know what I mean . Took about 2 1/2 miles for "oh yeah, I remember now" to kick in. Came home about 4 hrs later. I thoroughly enjoyed that.
