Looking for a new jacket

In the market for a new jacket I have an older Tour Master “Jett” jacket I’ve been happy with for what it cost. I know you tend to get what you pay for but Iam looking for something in the $2-300 range. Looking for opinions/reviews on what’s out

Leather or textile?

I have a Fox Creek leather jacket, it is heavy leather, not like some wimpy leather jacket with Harley logo on it. Has mess inside to keep it away from your body to allow air to travel around you when you open vents in front and back. Also comes with liner for those colder months or if ride turns cold. Snap it in close the vents and you're good.

Textile would be my first choice. It seems like a lot of them are “ADV” cut which Iam not interested in. The Tour Master I have is only about waist long

waist coats are hard to find anymore. Seems like they are all 3/4 length now. I just got a Tour Master Advanced jacket and it is pretty nice..not quite as long as a 3/4 but definitely not a waist coat. 2 way zipper, liner, water proof (they claim) On sale right now at Motorcycle Gear for $119. At that price it's a steal

That is one of the coats I was looking at it’ll be interesting how it works out for you. When I bought my current jacket it was before I got the FJR and I used for riding my KLR (still have the killer) I don’t have any huge complaints. I was thinking maybe I would step up to the next level of jackets-something more waterproof and breathable would be my main concern. Good-bad or otherwise armor isn’t high on my list

That Tourmaster jacket is a real steal at $120. I would like something like that in the longer style with full pockets on the bottom. I've got a Trans-Urban II from Pilot that I would replace with another, but they have apparently gone out of business. I agree that no one cares about armor until they need it...

Check out the stuff on the viking cycle site. Incredibly well made stuff at equally incredibly low prices.
