Question Tire Choice Help Needed

Hi all,

I ride a 2018ES that I purchased new last October. It has the factory fitted BT 023 at present but will need a tire change soon. I'd like a little direction as to what might be my best option.

Background:
I'm 6'0" tall and 163lb (I made a deal with my tapeworms, - I don't get fat and they don't go hungry).
My wife is 185lb but rarely rides with me.
I ride with the side cases full time and each has around 6lb in them.
Riding is 50% highway, 50% country roads. From time to time I do long trips, - maybe 600 miles a day.
Highway riding speed here in Texas is 80-90mph.

I'm a typical 7/10 rider. I enjoy having fun in the corners but generally don't push the envelope, although from time to time I do get a bug up my bum and let her rip.
I hardly ever ride in the rain but I do ride year round, so cool weather performance (below 40F) is a consideration.

I've narrowed the shortlist (in no particular order) to:
Michelin Pilot Road 4
Michelin Pilot Road 4 GT
Michelin Road 5 GT
Pirelli Angel GT 'A Spec'
Avon Storm 3D X-M

What say the collective?
Thanks.

Hate the current Road 4GT front on my bike - front wearing poorly and had an annoying hum since day 1. Rear wearing well and I like the traction it provides. I went with the Michelin due to reputation and there was a good rebate available at the time.

Bridgestone T31 seems to be the best price performer - rebates available now.

I'll try the Angel GT or T31 next.

All of those are good..... I hate the tread pattern on the PR4 front, it just begs for cupping/scalloping whatever you want to call it. Z6 usually up there, but a Shinko Raven 09, Angel, Storm, T31 front also good.

Changed my FJR in March for one of the last grey A model. The blue one had electronic suspension and I could never tell any difference with the settings. Love the A and the suspension seems better than on the electronic one. The new one came on Bridgestone and I do not like them at all, they actually grip well but the feedback from them is that they do not grip very well, would certainly never buy Bridgestone.

Thank heavens someone finally opened a new tire thread, I was about to give up. I have PR4 GT's on my '13 FJR A and am going to have to someday change the oil in my bike. Will my choice of tires affect (effect?) the type of oil I should use. Breathlessly awaiting your learned replies... JD

JD.... obviously it will depend 1 thing....what color your bike is, what seats you use, if you have stock or tapered steering stem bearings, which wrench / tool you used for said bearings and to what torque, what brake pads you run, if the windscreen is standard or touring, which color oil filter you plan to use, air pressure in your car or truck tires, and if you wear black or white socks.

Easy big fells, don't pop a vein ! Everyone is new sometime.

Let's sticky this one and make it our Definitive Tire thread.

If it says Michelin and Road on it I avoid it like the 'rona virus. Tried them, hated them

From the remaining 2 I'd go with the Pirelli every time.

Iíve run scores of sets of Michelin tires. I prefer R5GT and PR4GT over all others. Better grip at the ragged edge and longer lasting than anything else Iíve tried. Others will have different preferences. If Michelin stopped making tires, Iíd try the Pirelli Angel A spec. Iíve run just about everything at one time or another, but havenít tried those.
