Difference between 2016 to 2020 anything?

I am torn between buying a used 2016 or a new 2020.
There does not seem to be any difference between them. Or is there?

I think color is about it. I have 2016 cobalt blue, just shy of 20,000 miles, and she receives compliments just about every time we ride. Whichever you end up getting, you are getting an incredible machine! Congrats!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...353aaded9c.jpg

^ Nice looking seat? Which is that one?

I think letting someone else take the depreciation hit would be worth not having the new color. Only FJR owners would even know the difference.

The only choices are A or ES. There isn't any other difference except colour... find a good used low miler... I personally would not buy new.

With all the troubles I and many, many others have had with FJRs I would buy new and get the extended warranty. Especially l
If I got an ES model. It'll pay for itself.

If you’re having a lot of trouble with one of the most reliable motorcycles ever made, you’re doing something wrong. Never buy anything off the showroom floor... ever... in any vehicle or you are literally throwing thousands out the window.

Of the six bikes I've owned, I've bought my first four used and last two (including my FJR) new, so I get both points of view. But I have to point out ... if no one ever bought a new FJR, then there would never be any used ones (and Yamaha would have stopped making them in 2003). :surprise:

So you did 4 right...lol. Hey man, keep buying them new and getting tired of them shortly after they have the break in service done by the dealer..... that’s when I’ll sweep in... ha.

Often newish vehicles are sold ar traded because they have a problem the owner doesn’t want to deal with.

Buy new, get Y.E.S. warranty, ride it 100,000 miles. Cost difference between new and used will be insignificant in the scheme of things. Cost of tires will dwarf other expenses.
