Michael, now you should put the bike in your signature line and location in your profile. See UserCP above.....

Totally agree, if I lived in one of those area’s I wouldn’t buy it either, but being from the great State of Indiana & the same price as Russ paid it was a simple no brainer with the whole clutch debacle straight out of the box, again a no brainer. I wonder how Mother Yamaha justifies charging (screwing) our Canadien brothers on this as well as forcing that candy cow pie color on them

It's not Yamaha, it's the insurance lobbies protecting their own. Florida and Washington state do it to.

I guess I didn’t realize that. I always thought it was just some Yamaha deal, particularly since they forced that brown color on our friends up north ,,,the insurance thing makes more sense, Wonder if the insurance clowns are responsible for the brown color as well? Ya know since it’s so much slower it has to be safer, right? thanks Russ !

If you keep it buying new is never an issue -- its really becomes a money waster when you buy and sell a year later but if you have the cash there is more security in buying new -- but as it is said comparing those years they are basically the same -- 2014/2015 have 5 speeds but essentially the same -- 2013 just has a lower cruise limit but the same as 2014s.

Beyond that there are more changes but I don't think you are considering those models.

I will get the extended warranty after my factory one runs out in 1 year. I have heard different prices all over the place but I have determined the Yamaha authentic YES warranty is the way to go.

Uh, if you let the original warranty expire you can not get Y.E.S. You have to get it before the original warranty expires.

There isn't any good reason not to get it now. It doesn't start today, it starts when the original expires.

Call D&H in Alabama, no nonsense people with the best YES price, they were at $380 when I bought Mine although I ended up buying mine through my local dealer when they offered it at the same price, originally was $600+.

As n4 says you need to do it before the oe warranty expires and it doesn’t take effect until the oe 12mo warranty has expired. Best money I ever spent and kept my 14a from sleeping with the fish’s.

Been a great bike since we got past some of the initial issues, most will never use/need the warranty but it’s just a great program if you should.
