Is the fuel pick-up in the middle?

Is the fuel pick-up centered in the gas tank?

Apparently my '15 doesn't like to start if it's about a gallon from empty and sitting on the side stand of my somewhat steep driveway.

Pulled it out of the garage and parked it on the side stand. Thumbed the starter and it would sputter, struggle and stall multiple times. Finally checked the tank and I could visibly see and hear fuel, I've only ridden 220 miles on this tank.

Finally took the bike off the side stand and it fired up normally. Put it back down on the side stand to grab my gloves in the garage and it stalled. Tried starting it on the side stand, nope. Moved the bike off the side stand and it fired up normally.

I rode carefully a mile to my local gas station being careful with my left turns and made it there without issue and put 5.7 gallons in. Started up like normal on the side stand.

Although my driveway is steeper than normal, it's no so steep that being on the side stand puts it at a lower angle than I can dip the bike making a regular left turn.

I have seen photos way back of fuel pump replacements... the base of the pump is the fuel pickup AFAIK, and the pump is to the right of center, slightly forward.. it would make sense a steep slope uphill to the left would accumulate the fuel in the left rear away from the pump.
I ran a couple of tests of the reserve way back, I would almost run out of fuel, on a level surface, put bike on side stand and it sputtered and died. It would fire back up if I sat on it upright again.

Mine nearly died with ~ 1/4 tank under full throttle. I had to get to the gas station quick because I was almost out of gas.
