Question Can you key a new lock?

I recently lost a saddlebag but was able to find a saddlebag on ebay without a lock. I purchased a new lock from Yamaha. Any idea if it can be keyed to the original key?

I had to do this operation on my Kawasaki to get the bags keyed to the same as the ignition key. I believe you CAN do this if you have a new lock with the set of pins. A locksmith had to help me get it right, but it wasn't expensive. He used the ignition key to get the right pins in the new lock and they all work on the same key.

I did it for my helmet lock. It was not that difficult. I was able to re-arrange the pins such that it worked.
