Unhappy Saddlebag Fell Off

Got home from a typical ride on my '04 FJR and the right saddlebag was gone...it had fallen off. Has anyone heard about this happening? Also, any ideas about where I might find a replacement?

Haven't had that problem yet but trunk fell off the other day when I hit a bump. Good thing passenger wasn't on
board.

Also check the keyed locking tab to see if it has been bent down any. If it has? The locking handle could be fully depressed and still, fail to lock, because the locking tab would/could go under the locking slot in the handle.

Iíve never lost a case in nearly 16 years and over 120k miles of FJR ownership (now on a 2013 model) but last year for the first time I discovered the reason it could happen, and itís exactly consistent with the video showing above. The cases cannot detach in normal circumstances, but over time I found that the metal tab that connects to the lock and holds down the handle had worked loose. This meant it wasnít holding down the handle in a locked position, meaning it could come loose. Itís a simple fix requiring just a couple of grub screws (if theyíve completely gone) and some loctite.

Itís the only way short of a a severe impact that the cases can come away.

Agree........ these screws were supposed to be loctited by the dealer and can work loose early in life. Discussed many many many times, the dealers just miss this all the time.
