Ooooo!

Pulled into a new gas station semi-close to me today and saw this 🤩! Gave me a little tingle reminiscing about my 1000rr days lol. Tempted to throw some in the FJR just for kicks and that sweet exhaust smell.

Couch, agreed, it is a different smell to the exhaust, that smell of power, even though id Bet that if you dynod It thered probably be no difference, maybe less but the fjr does have the ability to do some adjustments on its own to utilize the added octane. Even though theres fewer btus of energy available in the higher octane than in a gallon of regular due to the additives per volume.

Anyway, I guess id Have had to try it, how much was it a gallon ?

$8.89 according to the photo. Ha! All those 8's made the price display look like it was out of commision. I've seen this pump in area's of upstate NY and in NJ. But... not that high of price, usually around the 5's or 6's $. Anywho, I'll stick to the 87 octane. If she gotten anymore livelier, I won't be able to hold on!

Well, 100 octane would run kinda cool..... you could always add an octane booster additive... nah... 87 is plenty enough.

Is unleaded so it should not hurt the catalytic converter. But I doubt the smell will pass the catalytic converter.

Please forgive me, I have out of the country or out in the solar system, one...
A quick question, any of you guys run REC90 fuel. No alcohol?

It is pretty common here on the coastal Florida because we burn it in boats.

But I was pondering, does it have any additives for say carbon or fuel injector cleanliness?

My father inlaw, his Chevy S-10 gets about 40 miles a year, if that... I filled the tank a few times with REC90 ($3.33 gallon when reg is 2.59) and have been driving it for its exercise and its pleasure. But I wonder if i should be running techron Chevron or Mobil for the month and then fill an almost empty tank with rec90 to put it back in mothballs.

If its got teats or tires, your bound to have trouble with it...

I have never deliberately sought out non-alcohol fuel. I've never seen a need for it or for anything above 87 octane. I just chuck some Berryman's B-12 or Star Tron in once or twice a yr when going to ride full tanks through completely and call it good. Most summers I ride at least 4 days per week commuting.

Myself, with everything that seems to be Going on this year the fjr isnt getting a great deal of exercise but like Russ, I give it a heavy dose of Lucas fuel treatment every 3rd - 4th tank, I do it with everything I own.
