What Tank Protection ?

Hi Chaps
Can anyone tell me if there is a wide tank pad that will stop the wife scratching up the tank on her new FJR? As you can see we have a tank pad fitted but its too narrow to stop any scratches. There are no bare studs or zips on her jacket either.

I've had the same problem with x girl friends and current wife, the solution is simple, get on and off a bike the same as mounting a horse, make her slide onto your seat and dismount or mount there then move to her seat. O yes what's scratching the tank, her boots, be nice about, say please, it worked for me.

Hi
No, its her bike, so its her jacket rubbing the tank

Just install some 3nm paint protection film. You can make it as wide as you like ..

I use the 3M film from Tankslapper. They make bike specific kits cut to fit and it's nearly invisible if applied correctly.

Thanks chaps
I have ordered a sheet of Rhino Hide vinyl to cut our own. I was looking for a wide black or silver tank pad to hide the scratches, a Baglux tank cover might be a bit OTT .

We fitted a wide tank pad in the end, as the bike is Matt silver so any protective film will show up. We also got the rear seat cut down to be level with the front seat, giving a bit more room to move back on the seat away from the tank.
