Kick Stand

Does anyone fumble with lowering the kick stand sometimes?
Or is it just me.
I have a big foot.
And am tall.
But some times going to lower, I get both kick and center stands.
Riding for years and many bikes.
This is only bike I have had trouble with this problem...

Yes, I do. Usually I can pop it down like I know what I am doing, but occasionally I fumble around like I bought the bike last week.

I always look down to my left to be sure I have it down.

Kick Stand

Red,

Yeah, at least it WAS a problem. I put a short length of hard black plastic pipe (press-fit) on the metal shaft that presses the kickstand down, making it about an inch longer than it was. Now when I reach for the kickstand, my foot always finds that thing first. Press down, kickstand down, easy-peasey.

Cheers,
Red

Unlike you, I think I've had that problem with all my bikes. Watching the kickstand as I lower the bike onto it has become a well-ingrained habit!

I am adopting the 'red-approved' pipe extension also, I'm going to try some stiff rubber heater hose.

Red, like you, I find the side stand on the fjr “difficult” to find and use, I always look down to make sure I have it fully extended. Probably the worst bike I’ve ever had for this function but it seems to lock-inwell once down. Thinking of doing the Ray/Red fix as well using a piece of stiff hose.

Post some pictures of the extension piece you put on. I am 6'3" and wear a size 14 and have difficulty time to time finding the kickstand without looking.
