VStream Sport Touring Question

Just a quick question. Looking at the middle size, N20308

I'm 6'3" with a 32" inside seam. Was wondering how this worked out from a buffering point of view. Looking for a quiet ride with it fully up and lower when I want some breeze. So anyone out there with similar height and inside seam.

Thanks.

If you guys are looking for a suggestion on an AirHawk, then the Cruiser R Large fits nicely on a 2016.

I have a Gen. 2 not a Gen. 3 and I don't know how different the Generations are.

I am 6' 3' with a 33" inseam and I use a Large v-stream that is a little over 22 inches high {the Medium you are ordering is a little over 20 inches high}

I don't use the V-stream in the summertime. I put the stock windshield back on in the summer with the X-creen on top of it.

I am afraid that the medium V-stream might not be high enough to give a guy your height a "quiet ride".

Even with the "large" one I have, I use the X-creen on top to give me a real "bubble" of silence.

I am sure others will chime in with more info.

Iím 6í and the medium VStream is just tall enough to reach just under my line of sight. It would need to be 2Ē taller to look through it and have true quiet. Itís also flimsy and buffets in the wind. I rate it as OK, but not great.

I’m 6’3”, 34” inseam. The best setup I have found so far is the Yamaha touring screen with the Laminar lip installed on my 2015. Buffeting and wind noise are extremely low with this combo.

I'm 6'4", 34" inseam. I have both V-streams, middle and tall. When I have the tall installed, no rain or buffeting occurs when all the way up. All the way down, I get the wind I need. Have ridden in 99 degree heat, no problem for me. The tall is mostly on my FJR. The middle has a slight smoke tint, ever so slight. I'm about to head out on a 3500 mile ride. Last year I had the tall on. This year I'll put the middle on just to change it up. Not as much protection from the rain, but close enough. All the way up, the middle screen is just above my eye line. Like them both, nice to have the choice between the two. As I said, the tall is what I usually ride with.

As for Brian20's comment. That Laminar lip is tremendous at moving the air above you helmet for buffeting, I tried one once. In hindsight, that was the combo I should have went with, the Yamaha touring with the Laminar lip add on.

Ha, that's funny, I did not know there was a Sport and a Touring X-creen. I have the Touring model, and I drilled both my summer stock windshield and my winter Large V-stream windsield and switch the Touring X-creen to whichever one I am using.

Unfortunately, I bought mine used and got the "Smoky" one and that is the one thing I regret. The time I need the X-creen the most, when it is raining, and dark and dingy, is the time I need to "see through" the X-creen as I hide behind it, and the time it is hardest to see through the dark screen, it makes riding in the rain more dangerous than it should be.

One more note, when I have my large V-stream and Touring X-creen on my 07 FJR, sometimes the electric mechanism won't work "at speed", just too much air pressure against the screen.

Also, I get a couple or 3 less MPG with the Large V-stream on. {of course it's winter then, so I have it UP all the time, and there is winter gas, which is different, and also cold air, which might change mileage. LOL Lots of variable.

I have a V-Stream Touring windshield for sale in near perfect condition if you want to save some $$$. It came from the PO when I got my bike last summer, I'm 5'9" so it's too tall for me.

Like I needed another doodad. Now I'm going to have to order a laminar lip. I love my vstream 20308, but both the 20308 and the yamaha touring screen leave me with buffeting. Anyone have photos of a lip on their Yamaha Touring shield?
