Hey fellow FJR owners. I've been lurking your forum for a little while now, and got some great info from your discussions. Now I've joined officially and am glad to be here. I absolutely love the performance and civility of my 2006 FJR, but I wish I hadn't ended up with one that had so many hidden mechanical issues, as I've already detailed in a thread I started in the "technical" area. Anyway, if I can get it sorted out I mean to ride it until I can't see, or I can afford to buy a much newer one, whichever comes first. This FJR is the 3rd bike I've owned. My first bike I got about 5 years ago and it was a 1984 Nighthawk 700s. That was a great bike, but it had no storage space at all, and practically no wind protection. It was a blast to ride for rides that weren't too long. It just wasn't that practical for a middle aged man like me. I tried to make up for its shortcomings by owning a cruiser at the same time, so I bought a 2000 Suzuki Marauder 800. That had a windshield and saddlebags so I thought it would be a better highway hauler. Turns out that bike was really more of an in-town ride also. So I decided I needed to move into the sport-touring realm to find a bike that was as fun as my Nighthawk, but useful too. I sold the Marauder and traded the Nighthawk to get my FJR. I was hooked within 20 miles. Thanks for having me.

It is actually a great opportunity for you to get to know your noble steed! There is a tremendous level of satisfaction to right the wrongs of previous owners/mechanics!
