Cincinnati Rider

Introduction of myself.
Came to riding a bit late in life, my early 40s. Fell in love with the experience and had two wheeled machines ever since. Of course I ride the 2011 FJR for my longer excursions and a 2007 Honda 919 for the shorter. Previous to these two bikes I cut my teeth on a 81 Yamaha 650 Special.
I was fortunate enough as a teenager to own a number of muscle cars (back then they were cheap!)-GTO, 442, an old Hurst Olds, a Vette convertible and a 71 Camaro. These days my four wheel fun is an 06 BMW Z4 M coupe.
I work here in Cincy as a mechanical engineer on surgical instruments.
I look forward to reading about all your experiences both on and off our beloved FJRs!

'81 650 Special! The '81 Special II was the first new bike I ever bought. Rode that thing all over Virginia and NC while stationed in Newport News.

Welcome! Tell us about that 919. I wanted one back in the day, wouldn't mind one even now, but I have a VFR to satisfy that itch. I believe that engine was turned into the 1000 that is in my CBF1000 (re-tuned Fireblade engine).

2014 Honda CB1100 DLX

It doesn't matter what I ride, where I ride, how fast I ride, or how far I ride... it only matters THAT I RIDE...EVERY DAY. "Ferret"

Thanks all for your welcome.
I'm on the east side of town in the Milford area. I've taken the FJR as far south as Oak Island NC and as far north as Binghamton NY where I'm from originally. I love both motorcycles for different reasons. You all know about the Yamaha's smooth ride, excellent power, great handling-just an excellent all around touring bike. The 919 just brings a smile to my face every time I ride it; even today when I lay on the throttle and let the tuned for low end torque kick in I hear myself chuckle.
By today's standards at 110 HP, 420 lb it's not going to compete with new Ducatis, etc. but I love the looks of it and the fact you can throw it around so easy.

I've attached a few pictures of the rides...
