Back from 10 year absence...

Thank you for retaining my login ID!
After 10 years riding Triumphs, I completed purchase of this beauty this week!
It's a whole lot more sophisticated than the Gen 2 FJR I traded-in for a Rocket III Roadster back in 2010 - and even more so than the Gen 1 I had before that!
The RIII was a beautiful bike and a lot of fun but it could also be hard work! The AE is both beautiful and easy

Welcome back!!! And congrats!
Wow, beautiful, and it harkens back to the Yamaha color scheme of the early '80s Midnight Special!
Very nice!

That is a good looking color scheme. Not sure why they left the grab handle silver. I would have to hit that with the gold like the wheels.

I had one of those; 650 Special II in midnight blue. Beauty paint.

Congrats on the new bike and color.

Howdy. Welcome back.

Love the gold wheels and the little gold "Yamaha" decal on the front fender although I think I'd rather have a "Not a BMW" decal there.

Then it would need the gold midnight special emblems. Just like in the 80's

Well, they did do the FJR letters in gold on the side panels. Thankfully, they figured out the silver frame and engine doesn't belong on every version.

Yamaha finally checked off nearly every box on what makes a good sport tourer. Too bad they will not make more.

Agreed- I might just do that!
I always worried about scratching or scuffing the body-coloured grab handles on my 05 and 07 FJRs when I had them so something I can easily colour-match if needed is much preferred
