Hey Everyone. New guy here in Edmonds, WA. Hadn't ridden since I was in my twenties (49 now) and my Covid survival gift to myself was a 2015 KLR 650. I'd planned to primarily ride forest roads and trails, but I'm finding myself more and more riding it on the street. Which of course leaves me wanting for more power and comfort.
In the next couple weeks I'll be buying a 2005 FJR w/10K miles from a friend. It's been sitting outside in his driveway for 2+ years without being started or charged. I'll be creating a new thread in the appropriate sub-forum to go over what I'll need to do to get this road ready.
Thanks to everyone here for sharing their knowledge!
Rob

Hey rob .. I am in Pacific / Auburn yeah lets see,
you need a new battery .. change the oil coolant.. brake and clutch fluid .. empty out the gas and clean the tank ( might be problem with fuel injectors and the gas lines leading there.. but cross that bridge when you get there ..also might as well do the plug since you will have the tank off
..do all those things BEFORE you try to start it ... do not try to start with the old gas and oil in it ,or god know how long you will be messing with it .
Check out Two wheel obsession on you tube on how to work on this bike ,
