Soon to be hopeful

I am new to this forum and not currently a FJR owner. I wish to rectify that soon. I hope to use the combined knowledge and experience of this group to help me buy the right bike, Prep it properly for riding and make it comfortable for both solo riding and two up riding.

About me, I am another of those old guys, be 78 soon and still enjoy going out to kill a few bugs. I currently have a Suzuki DL650 V-Strom and a Suzuki Burgman 650. Last year I sold my Wing and plan on replacing it with the FJR.

I average about 40,000 mainly touring miles a year and in the two year I had the wing the wife rode with me about 16,000 miles of the 26,000 I put on it.

In planning to buy a used FJR I was looking into a 2014 to 2016 ES model. So my question? As the ES is more expensive and harder to find than the A is it worth holding out for it?
