I’d never heard of anyone with a foot in both camps, haha...it was quite a polarizing topic on the FZ1OA back in the heyday of the gen 1. The fuel mileage on the gen 1 was really outstanding, I seem to recall it getting even better after I did the carb re-work...what wasn’t to like, more performance and better fuel economy.

Geez FZ 1OA... that's going back awhile for me lol

My riding buddy had both a skunk and a bee. Ultra cool models of a great bike. He has since given up riding, but texted me the other day he saw a skunk advertised on Craigslist and had to keep himself from calling on it lol.

I don’t know what the “skunk” looked like but the “bee” really Made me stop and look, if one of those had been available when I bought the fjr ????’

Just incredible bikes, I like(d) the trio of comparison bikes at that time, the fz1, the bandit 1200 and of course the Kawi ZRX. I really, really wanted an Eddie Lawson green zrx, still do!

Around here, seems the '04 was all I would see...... until I wanted to buy. Then was either all blue or black.
The skunk is on the radar as soon as Wife Inc has her "little bike" in the basement..

I climbed from a 2010 FZ1 to a 2013 FJR1300 A. Loved both but the FJR1300 offers so much more. You will not look back

Welcome to the forum. i had an’04 FZ1 and if I could find another minty one I’d buy it in a heartbeat. Can’t beat the FJR for comfort and miles though.
