For serious touring, you may want an upgrade seat (pair), or handlebar risers. Almost every FJR gets a tweak or two, on comfort items. Watch (subscribe) to the Classified forum here, to watch for bargains, if that helps. Riders typically sell all-stock FJRs, and sell the upgrade parts separately, here.

Hi, Red,

First thing I did after I'd ridden it a while was order a new saddle from Sargent. Happy with the one on my V-Strom, so I figured it would be a safe bet. Prior owner already did the bar risers. Some other things are already in the pipeline.

Thanks for the welcome!

Hello jimw!

I chopped a path in the ice at the foot of the driveway last weekend in hopes of getting out; that didn't happen, but maybe this weekend! 62* on Sunday!

Had family in Coon Rapids for many years - they retired an moved to Andover. It would be nice to meet FTF - let's both keep that in mind as it warms up.

Nice to meet you. I grew up in a Mopar family! Mom had a Special Edition Plymouth Satellite I fondly remember: white with white vinyl top, red plush carpet, houndstooth bucket seats, 318 V8. Had a lot of fun with that car. Dad's was a Chrysler Town & Country with the 440. Loaded to the gills with band equipment, it would still top 120 on the straights!

Looking forward to exploring the site.

OPM - Other People's Money - is the best kind to spend!

I have a box from T-Rex in the garage awaiting warm enough temps. Also a Gen III shock, and some new horns to wire up. Did the GIVI trunk mount last weekend.

P.O. installed a CalSci screen - I hope it isn't too big. It was nice when I brought the bike home in the October rain.

Thanks!

However, the high school sports tournaments are coming up, and almost every year, we get some kind of foul weather.

The Spring equinox is on March 19 this year, so only 13 more days to go...

No one really cares. All of us were newcomers once.

Time spent looking at motorcycles, even Harleys, is never wasted.

Yup. But it's a quick way to get past that '10 posts before you can really do anything' speed bump. 🏍️

Cheers!
