New fan to Fjr 1300

I am a newly obsessed fan of the FJR in Webster NY. I had been a ver happy rider of a 93 Honda Knighthawk for 10 years prior. Very happy with that bike as my first. Very reliable and low maintenance except for the carbs. But she lost her luster somewhere on the way. A friend generously loaned me his FJR while my car was in the shop and Honda was not running. Fast forward, I bought it from him (I knew it was for sale) and am completely OBSESSED. It is a 2006 AE. It came with vstream windshield, Corbin seat, throttle lock, no side cases. I have been lurking here for a bit. Made some improvements and did a 400 mile ride this past weekend. So far, I have added helibars, givi top rack, Givi 56 liter top case. Getting some side cases that need work this Friday from Ebay. Still looking for lowered pegs and highways to fix the ergos for me. I am so impressed with this bike. She is so stable and can take whatever I ask. Still need more practice on my low speed maneuvers. I could talk all day about this bike...

Like you said night and day. Would recommend a nighthawk to any new rider, though. Go smaller for getting the license, but after that a 750 is a good size, imo. Fjr is too much for the first year or two of riding.

Loaded up the nighthawk yesterday to the buyer's shipper. Bittersweet. Ebay buyer is in MO. So glad I passed over all the low ball bids.

Congratulations, low-ball bidders are like spam phone callers, if they get 1 hit, it was worth their effort.
