It all sounds about right!!!

I will collect my passport this Thursday morning, from the local militia office, complete with resident's permit, meaning I know longer need an entry visa. This has been a very long, hard slog, standing in 1 queue after another for many hours. The officials almost seem to enjoy the frustration that it causes.

Now that I am a resident, I just need to get an EXIT visa!! Next thing on the to-do list!

Hi,

Here is one option from Finlines: Lubeck - St. Petersburg
http://www.finnlines.com/ferry-trips...burg/timetable

Only two departures a week, Wednesday and Saturday. Three nights onboard. Not exactly a motorcycle trip. Could be boring without good friends...

Another option is Germany - Finland wich I have used a lot myself. Departure from Travemunde or Rostock and arrive in Helsinki.

Third option is Germany (Rostock) - Poland (Gdnyia / Gdansk). All three options can be seen from this site: http://www.finnlines.com/ferry-trips/routes_fares

If you decide to choose Finland as one stop, just let me know. We'll have a pint or coffee on me

I eventually took the Hull - Rotterdam and Kiel - Klaepeda ferry routes. The whole journey took me 2 nights and 3 days (including 1 VERY long day!)

We will be doing the round trip, this August, for the West Wales Fest - haven't decided on routes yet, but will have a bit more time to play with and tour. It will depend on the passengers, as to how much sightseeing they want to do en route!

If you are interested in meeting up to join the "convoy", and attend the WWF, let me know!

Cheers!

Thanks Pete for the invitation,

Just discovered that this thread is one year old. Oops, sorry my bad.

I also find the ferry options very boring. Nothing to do. The days can, and will, get very long.
