And of course, another single moderated thread just for oil filters, right?

I'm ready to go with this. I'm thinking the existing oil and filter thread get new titles and stickied and all future posts get added to them as appropriate. Any other older threads that rear the Ugly Head will get closed and referenced so no more further posting there.

If you stumble across an old thread, post a link in the appropriate stickied thread. Don't actively seek them, let them die peacefully in their sleep. I'll lock the other threads and add links if needed as they come up.

Any other suggestions?

The only thing I would add Russ is that you could do the same for tires, windshields, seats, etc. A few forums I frequent have specific threads. Iím not sure that itís something for this forum because it would require quite a bit of work to do it.

Whatís really needed is an anti a-hole button but the problem with that is that most likely all of us would be outside looking in at some point 😁

So past babbling a bit, Iím not sure how to truly fix this as a-holes will be a-holes no matter the subject.

The problem with most forums is the lack of a good index or sub index, if no index, people just post up a new thread about a subject. One forum would reprimand a new guy for not doing a search, but search functions lack, and one has to wade through a ton. Most won't do that. Same forum had a category for "Never Ending... " miscellany, which ended up quite useless as it held so much. A good index would eliminate the need for that.

So, sure, I'm all for sticky's that contain single threads for oil, tires, CCT, spider bites, etc. to make it easier and closing/locking repetitive stuff.
