Poll: How Do You Feel About Loud Pipes?

Quote:
'Loud pipes save lives' and 'the louder it is the faster it is' are all phrases you’ve probably heard before, but for a lot of people – particularly the non-riding public – loud exhausts prove to be obnoxious. Which camp do you find yourself in?

I don't like obnoxiously loud pipes, but who decides what's obnoxious? I've got a set on my ZRX that I like, and I can sneak in without my wife hearing me.

I'm definitely not in favor of requiring stock pipes or something approved by some government agency. I fear, though, that someday that's what we'll have because of the people who deliberately get the loudest pipes possible.

Just keepin' up with traffic, Officer.

I hate 'em. But then, I live in Harleyland, where all the riders are protected by loud pipes and tinkerbells as they ride to the bar in a t-shirt and flip-flops.

"Loud pipes lose rights"

"If loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to ride that thing would do"

I don't mind a little 'rumble', but the straight pipes, etc really p!$$ me off.

I don't mind loud pipes. I dislike ass clowns who constantly rev their engine hoping desperately that someone will notice them.

No commercials. No dictators.

It would be nice if people would use a little discretion but I have found v-twinners with loud pipes and discretion are few and far between.

There are many more v-twin cruisers out there so obviously the get noticed more. But to be fair the under 30 kid with the R-1, ZX1100 or whatever bike that puts a pipe on and removes the baffle, and our neighborhood has a couple, I find much more annoying than the low rumble of SOME v-twins ( no straight pipes, they suck). And don't forget the old days and 2 strokes with expansion pipes. But more than loud pipes, I hate the latest trend of loud radios on bikes. We got one that goes by every day with the music blaring.
