Top 10 Things That Go Wrong On Group Rides

Quote:
The best way to solve all these problems is to just ride by yourself, old numero uno. But no man is an island, and group rides are their own special kind of fun. At MO, we definitely do our fair share of group rides. Here’s what we’ve learned about the things most likely to go wrong, and what you can do to ward them off ahead of time.

#11- the Late Comer.

This is the person that can't seem to be on time for anything. You know the guy: sends a text at 8:59 saying "on the way" and he lives 20 minutes away. This guy ruins much of the ride for everyone and b/c of that I've left several behind after these habitually inconsiderate bass turds have kept me (or us) waiting two or three times. When I say kickstands up at 9:00, I mean 9:00. Not 9:05, not 9:20.

Agree, hard to sit there cooking in the heat while watching some one doing something (like getting gas/ adjusting whatever) when I spent extra time the night before taking care of all of that.

OBTW that same person will be the one bitching because they have to wait at a stop sign turn for the sweeper to appear. LOL

We literally had a guy show up for a ZRX ride a few years back with a beer in his hand. That's my most memorable.

But the guy who doesn't buy gas because he still had a half tank is pretty irritating as well.

Just keepin' up with traffic, Officer.

That one guy who can't get into the rhythm of the group ride. Everyone starts gearing up after a break or lunch. Everyone starts their engine. There's always that one guy who is 2 steps behind at every stop.

Yeah, someone's gotta be last, but sometimes it's the same guy every, single time.
