I am considering the Passenger Backrest for my 2008 FJR. To this point there has been very little two up riding. Should I consider the Stiffy Kit to prevent subframe breakage?

Opinions vary if no rear trunk IMHO it's good insurance for the times you do have a passenger with a back rest. I have doubled down with the "Stiffy Kit" and a GIVI SR357 braced trunk mount with my E52 Liter rear trunk. I ride two up and never go over 10/15 pounds in the rear trunk as my wife likes to lean back on the GIVI back rest.

I have owned my 2008 FJR since new but am fairly new to this forum. Has anyone had subframe failures using a passenger backrest without a trunk that you are aware of?

A passenger backrest places the same stress on the tail section as a trunk. I would install a stiffy kit. No question.

If ya have to ask, then you don't need one! But you do for your FJR. That cast aluminum frame is just out there hangin, ready to snap if you ride heavy.

Hi Garauld:

I am new to the FJR and this Forum. I purchased a 2015 FJR1300ES and a friend of mine has your hwy. brackets and pegs which look fantastic!!

How do I order a set with the rubber vibration type pegs and could I receive them by Friday June 19th?

I look forward to your reply.

Cheers,
