Your steel braided lines are rubber inside.

The engine is hot and rubber life is shortened when it gets hot. Presumably Yamaha used rigid tubing for the last stretch for longer life. If changing out the line I'd want to preserve that feature.

If you already have the steel braided line and its larger diameter fits in the space the solid metal Yamaha line is routed then you could go ahead and use it. At worst in 5-15 years the line starts leaking and your clutch quits working until you replace the line again.

I've never felt the need to replace rubber brake lines with steel braid.
