Umm . . . Red does want it, sorry, Russ. I sent the money today.

I saw some others (correct by the OEM Part Number) on eBay last week, but Jim is a friend here, so I will be happy with his good hardware.

Thanks, Jim
.

ftfy.

According to Ivan, all Gen2 ecu's are the same. I figured if I could get one cheap I'd send it for his reflash, swap mine out & sell it to recoup some of the cost.

I see. I thought about the same thing.

I asked Ivan if I could have the person I bought it from on eBay send it directly to him, but he balked at that. He said it's such a quick turn around, there was no sense in doing that.

Are you going to have this one sent right to Ivan to save the postage? Seems sensible to me.

I didn't purchase this one. To me it's not a quick turnaround when the bike is apart and unrideable for days instead of hours.

I think the 2008 - 2012 ECUs are the same. I wish I had more knowledge of how the FJR ECU functions. For example I would like to know when the FJR runs in closed loop and what parameters must be met before it goes closed loop and gets most of its fueling info from the O2 sensor. I'm pretty sure the FJR never enters closed loop at idle but what conditions must be met before closed loop occurs like engine temp or RPM or maybe intake air temp?

On my BMW I run an Innovate Motor Sports wide band O2 sensor with LC2 ECU interface. I just connect the LC2 to my lap top (HDMI port) and program virtually any desired AFR and the motorcycle runs at that AFR whenever it's in closed loop which is most of the time after engine warmup. The bike likes to see a closed loop AFR of between 13.4:1 and 13.7:1 which vastly improved smoothness and power output. Stock the bike ran at 14.7:1 in closed loop, huge difference. I can also get a real time recording on my lap top and observe when closed loop occurs and watch the actual AFR vary slightly above and below the programed value. I tried the Innovate wideband on the FJR but for some reason the FJR ECU didn't like the LC-2 input at any RPM above idle. This is frustrating to me because I have no clue what is going on in that sealed up black box called an ECU and I don't think it's even possible to find out because I don't think anyone really has a clue. Well, maybe Ivan? I was able to vary the CO settings and observe what effect it had on actual AFR values. All 4 COs set to +7 resulted in a 0.5:1 increase in richness at idle. All COs set to +20 resulted in a 1.0:1 increase at idle. I just assume the FJR ECU runs the bike at 14.7:1 in closed loop sense that where the CAT works most efficiently. I don't like mysteries especially unsolvable ones.

Sorry for rambling on. Red, I see from USPS tracking your ECU should be delivered tomorrow.
