I might be interested but would love to come test sit the seat! I'm up in the Stuart area. Are you here in SoFla now or WI?

Seat is in WI. Guess I should have said that. But if anyone is in the area your welcome to test sit it.

I know seats are very personal, but here is my perspective: I rode from Seattle to Boise and back (500 miles each way) this past weekend using the Yamaha comfort seat. It took me 8h out and 9h back (rain and traffic). I stopped for a few minutes every 60-80 min to stretch and hydrate and had no seat related discomfort at all. It's actually the most comfortable bike I have ever owned (XJ900, ST1100, ST1300). Very impressed!

This is where the disconnect happens in these discussions. For many touting custom seats, they are often some combination of:

. Size other than that the off-the-rack seat was built for (eg: Not the "standard rider size")
. 500 miles may be a breakfast run
. Stopping every 60-80 minutes instead of running tank-to-tank while only stopping long enough to splash and dash

Not everyone has these needs but when those people spend a little more for a solution it's often one that works even for those who don't. That's (more often than not) NOT the case in the other direction.

Ridden wet. Put up hard.

I had the older style comfort seat, and the newer one with the FJR stitching. I found both to be an improvement over stock.

Bill, a Padded 2x4 would be an improvement over the stock seat 😁, although some (truly hard-azz’s in my opinion) have found it to work for them.

I'm interested too. Any pics? I have an '09, will they fit that? I also have a backrest that installs on the passenger piece that I want to keep. Do you think it will work with that?
