The previous owners of mine were the police. Taxation was down as Police when I purchased and it still had some of the yellow reflective/ hi vis stickers on it, with the remains of the sticky glue on every panel. Definitely not covert. Not sure what it would be used for.

Possibly an escort bike? But as you said could have an interesting history. I doubt I'll ever find found.

I donít think this is a Yamaha seat conversion as Woodway have it on their website as part of the conversion.

Hello
Sorry for the very late reply, ive had major IT issues and have not been able to log on.
My bike was a ex Dyfed-Powys police bike. On a 2010 plate, sadly in late July I was involved in a RTC in that I was riding behind a British Rail truck and it suddenly just stopped in the road and proceeded to reverse back !
I was about 8 metres back and honked my horn and shouted but the truck reversed over me as I jumped off the bike, resulting damage made it a cat N salvage write off.
I bought the bike for £3500 and got back a insurance cheque for £5990 so wasnt too upset, sadly she is on ebay now from the salvage company ( 4th Dimension ) I was lucky enough to keep the panniers and bits that I took off her before she went away so again have those to sell on.
Dare I say I have now moved back to owning a BMW 1200 RT, Ive had 3 FJR's over the years and will no doubt miss that superb engine but the BMW comes with lots of gadgets that will keep me busy.
I have up for sale at the moment on this forum the police spec left handlebar PTT bracket which is a cracking piece of kit.

Woodway are now using for their Gen 3 bikes the Yamaha OE bikes that come from the factory with the rear box fitted as this black bike is showing, they no longer manufacture the glassfibre rear box that was used in their Gen 2 bikes All they do at Woodway is add their own lighting systems and switchgear. I visited them in May 2017 and got shown around the factory, the new bikes ( Gen 3 ) have now got a second battery fitted under the seat to cope with the extra equipment fitted, the older Gen 2 bikes had endless problems with the electrics/electronics failing due to having multi earth points etc.
Indeed my own ex police Woodway bike was for ever just cutting out on me for no obvious reason, after extensive checks it was discovered that the earth spiders had failed, mainly S4 which was coroded.
I fitted a home made bypass link from S4 straight to battery.
