Heated grips

Hi Gents, this is my first post. I have a 2003 FJR and would like to put heated grips on, i have a couple of questions. 1 what size are the bars? 2 is there a preferred brand? 3 Is it hard to do? TIA , Terry

I had the OEM grips installed when the bike was purchased used and have never had a second thought about it. The OEM control and power requirements offered peace of mind and resale value IMHO. More than a few on the site have installed after-market, heated grips with equal satisfaction... a bit of inquiry using the search function on the tool bar should result in all the information you're looking for, including size, opinions and the installation process for wiring and grips (not difficult). Good luck!

Have a look here:Very nice heated grips and the nice thing is that the controller is on the left Grip!No other boxes!Simply connect the wires on the battery! The bars are 7/8 and you will need the 130mm long grips.

Mihalis, having never come across them before, I personally think that those are the nicest in "appearance" that I have seen. Thanks for the link. Going to save it for the future if it's ever needed.

To be honest, they seem like an even more convenient setup to use than the Gen 3 stockers where you have to fumble with one control button to get the grips menu and then another control button to adjust the heat settings.

Also for me are the nicest heated grips that i have seen.I like the design of the rubbers, looks very similar to OEM and also i like that they have the controller on the grip, something very ergonomic i believe.
From what i hear also those grips are very hot!
Really beautiful heated grips with a smart design..
