Any FJR folks in Darwin?

Thinking about taking a job in Darwin in the near future and just curious if there are any Fijjer owners there or close?

We do have a couple of FJR owners who live at a property south of Darwin...can't recall how far out of town. Bernie called in there on his lap of OZ.

Paging Bernie.....

Here for a good time, not a long time.

Yes, there is a very nice couple who live in Katherine, which is a town 324 Km South of Darwin. They both ride FJR's, and dirt bikes, and they put me up for a night on my last trip around Australia. She goes under the name "NT Girl". You can find her profile and Email in this thread.

I believe she also used to post on this forum, but I haven't seen her here for a while.

Ahh, here is a thread from this forum.

Thanks! I'm still not sure if I'm going to make the swap but if I do it would be nice to know that there are some bikers down under I can run with and share my bad habits.

Darwin is not a very big place, so there may only be a few FJR's in the vicinity, but there will be plenty of other bikers around. The best club to contact would be the Ulysses club, http://sites.google.com/site/ulyssestopend/Home

I'm sure they would make you welcome, though you will have to be 40 years or older to actually become a member of the club.

Hi dfitz - I started replying to your thread, then realised you are from Alaska or somewhere up there, and cancelled my post as I figured there must be a Darwin on your continent you were referring to. Sorry 'bout that.

My reply was going to be almost word for word the same as Bernies, except I haven't stayed with them

As Bernie says, Darwin id a fairly small place (and gets pretty warm too - certainly warmer than Alaska).
