Ride to Mt Airy

For those in the Triad area of NC interested in a ride to Mt Airy. See details:

Ok. How about this: meet at sheetz in north high point at 2 pm. Sunday 10/25. Ride up NC 66 and west on 89 to mt airy for a late lunch. Everyone makes their way home however.

13 Bones restaurant. Mt airy.

If interested, the meeting place is the Sheetz station 3350 N Main St, High Point, NC 27265. Everyone's welcome, we don't care what you ride. Late lunch at 13 Bones in Mt Airy.

So here's my going home plan. 1 of 2 things, see attachment;

Plan A, since I'm farther south than most, is to just ride the red line south through the country then head east on 64 to Asheboro.

Plan B, if anyone's interested we'll take a quick jaunt down 52 South and to the top of Pilot Mountain at the State Park at the purple circle. If you've not been it's a great view with generous parking and a short trail walk to the peak if you feel like it. Facilities too. Then folks can make their way home from there. I'll be rejoining the red line to head south at the yellow circle.

I suppose y'all know about highway 620 through Lamsburg up to Piper's gap.

If not, it would be a shame to be so close and not hit it.

We're just having a simple leisurely RTE but thanks for the suggestion.

You are of course welcome to plan any excursions and post them up.

Here's DropBox links to 2 routes and a way point. 66/89 to (green line above), my 801 from and Pilot Mtn State Park. In case, you know, someone with cruise control might want to take the lead

It’ll be done raining by 12:00. And it’ll have plenty of time to dry out. 😃 May be a little chilly at 55. Hope to see everyone at 2
