Looks like it's gonna be just Chad the HD Guy and me so we've opted to head NW a bit into the cooler mountains. And he's never been on the Blue Ridge Parkway so we got that going for us.

Post up if you want to meet up. We'll be at the the Sheetz station in Randleman, NC 9:30am Saturday.

We met, we rode, we ate!

Met Chad the HD Guy at the place and had a very pleasant surprise. sector7g rode up from Charlotte to join us! So we jetted up the hwy to the Virginia state line and hit the back roads. Found some good ones, too with only one u-turn. My fault, I was jammin'! Lunched at Holly Jo's Creekside Grill in Boone's Mill, VA and headed up into the hills.

Then the adventures began. Road closure so we had to detour. That was ok. We were going to get on the BRP southeast of Roanoke, VA but it was closed. So we doubled back to another access point. Closed. So we scooted south across town to hit US221 south to the BRP. Open! So Chad got his first ride on the BRP, mission accomplished. For those familiar, I took the boys down Bell Spur and Squirrel Spur roads. WooHoo! sector7g peeled off at the bottom to head home and Chad and I meandered across NC89 for a while then headed home thru Danbury and Kernersville, NC.

Other than the heat it was a great day! For Chad & me about 370 miles. I had swapped out my comfort seat with a Sargent World Sport thinking this would be a good test. Nice seat. Bucket type like a Corbin but with a little more padding.
