I suggest an 09 or new or 06 and younger. Avoid the 07 and 08 models due to throttle abrupt response and possible Fuel Injection Issues. Lot of guys with 07 and 08 have Power Commanders or after market throttle tubes with a different throttle cam due to abrupt throttle response or learn to calibrate their wrist.

SpokaneJim,

Actually, I have a 2008 and it has a very "normal" throttle response. The 2007s did have the "abrupt" throttle response that you mention. Most of them now have a Power Commander, or a G2 Throttle Tamer, or both, already installed. These days, you can get an ECU re-flash from Ivan to fix the throttle problem in one easy move, on the early Gen2s. I hear that the ICU update costs less than a Power Commander. I have no need for that service, but there are many posts about Ivan's work to be found on the FJR forums, if anybody want to Search.

Nothing wrong with 08 models. Had one for 8 years and not one problem. Had a recall for ignition switch but I never did it because mine never gave any trouble and I didn't want some pimple popper messing up my bike.

That's incorrect; the '08 FJR does not have the throttle issue. Have one now for almost 5 years and no issues with that. I would suggest an '08 or up, choose the color combo you want and that will pretty much determine the year you want. If you don't care about color, get as new as possible as long as the mileage is good and the bike was maintained properly. Good luck with your search.

Nothing wrong with the throttle response on my '07 either. No spring unwind, no power commander, no ECU flash.
