So Cal Ride 29 Feb. 2020

OK... ride is back ON.

One person wanted to go so, now there's reason to go.
(actually I planned on showing up anywya just in case.)

So... 9:00 AM start time (I think that's what I planned first...)
Start: Hwy 79 (Temecula Parkway) where it dead ends against the hills next to the Jack In the Box.
If you want to visit with folks first show up at 08:30.

and then down Hwy 76 to I5, Pico exit, up to the cool starbucks at Ortega.
Stop there for coffee and just to see the view.

then on to Cook's Corner for lunch (cash no plastic there).
Santiago Canyon to Jamboree down to PCH then to the starbucks
near Crystal cove where the ride ends. (end: 33.569798, -117.83282)
Find your way home from there!

It may just be two people going or maybe just me. (smile)

Group rides with total strangers(internet peps) are hard to put together. For years we had a group (Bandit 1250 guys ) that would do a Death valley ride every year or so, one of the guys passed away and that was it. Im close to you so if sometime you want to get out and do a Julian or Borrego ride just message me and maybe we can put together a day out. Jim

You give up pretty quick -- I dont check this forum every day --- But I can't on the 29th --- trip planned with my other yamaha - the one that floats. -- Pick a March date that good for you both if you want.

Julian South is a good run --- I also like that run to Tecate ( park bike American side and Walk over for lunch )

Ride is still on for Saturday Morning. Leap Day! I'm going if I have to ride it alone.

Looking forward to coffee on the patio that overlooks the end of Ortega Highway. (the intersection where you could say it ends anyway).

May buy IN n OUT (there near Starbucks) and then just eat that at Cook's corner. I've done that before, and they don't seem to mind. (Pic Nic tables outside).

Weather forecast is "Sunny".

Wish I could join in, but my dance card won't fit another 'fly 'n ride' for a while. You kids have fun.

* * Just hanging around until I can ride with Petey, Mack and Rock again. Never forgotten. * *

I'm trying to map this out but I'm not familiar with the "cool starbucks at Ortega".
Can you clear that up for me? Do we head north on I5 to a "Pico exit"? Where is that?

Thanks!

I can't heading out of town --- here's what Don might be up to though ( this just my guess based on the info and knowledge of the area -----please wait for his reply )

So 79-- meetup -- go south on I-15 to Hwy 76 -- west to I-5 -- North to ......

Avenida Pico is the exit Pico -- you can take that to EAST to Avenida La Pata ( cool little back road they opened up 1-2 years ago) -- Go left NORTH -- to Hwy 74 Ortega -- on that corner there is a Starbucks in the Sendero Marketplace -- maybe that the Cool one on Ortega -- it is elevated.

Cooks Corner is North of this area so it might be the way you are heading. Cooks is a Cool little biker destination for sure.

Enjoy the ride
