For those wanting to explore Hwy. 138 east from Baie Comeau to Kegashka, my friends Gerhard and Cherie made the trip on their R1200RT, then on to Newfoundland... here's the vid.

There's a really simple ferry from Baie Comeau to the south shore of the St. Lawrence. It drops you right into the roads to the Gaspe...basically the last place to cross the river (which is hours wide at that point).

CFR looks like fun! I'm already committed to a ride to NL (and back) in June this year. Hopefully next year!

Is CFR always about the third week in June?

FYI for planning purposes, the ferry from Baie Comeau to Matagne is not available. If you want to cross to get to Gaspe, backtrack an hour to Forestville and take the ferry to Rimouski.
