Scot Fest III return of the haggis

After speaking to Pete, he's agreed that Moscow Russia probably wasn't going to attract the highest attendance this year. I've therefore twisted his arm and he's kindly agreed to pass the hat to me (though he'd already drunk the wine) to organise the third Scot Fest (although we may still have a detour through Moscow!) .

I'm currently in tough negotiations with hotels in the Dumfries area to see what sort of deal they can offer so not quite so far north as previously. But it would help if I could gather rough numbers of those that are likely to attend. Initial thought is the weekend of 11 to 14 July but if this isn't a good time for enough people I'd be open to suggestions for slightly later in the month or early August. So get your names down to indicate your likely attendance and whether the July date is suitable.

Ian & Margaret Fri, Sat and Sun 11,12,13 July

Hi Ian. Sue & I are up for it but end of July/August preferred.

Most of the usual suspects our on Facebook now so that would be your best bet.

Hmmm. A bit later would be better for us as well. Beginning of July clashes a bit with our trip to the TdF, but with a bit of rejigging could be doable. Watch it go past on the 11th, then Epernay to Dumfries in time for tea? Might have tried it once, but not so sure now.

Whenever you go for, we'll be there.

Well Dumfries is out as not many hotels big enough and those that are already booked out for weddings that weekend. I'm looking slightly further north now and contacting Dunblane Hydro as they are a bit bigger and their standard room rate is a little more palatable. Also open to look at different dates if that's easier for folks to get a better attendance but can't go past 2nd weekend in August because of other committments.

You're looking to put us up in a power station?

Winters dates work for us as well

Those dates are our shutdown so should be okay, may even extend and do Mull, Skye and Bealach ne Ba and over to Applecross.

Well strange that my calendar is unusually empty in July and August, but am starting to plan the round Britain ride for those months. So may be the ideal long weekend break time. So for me any weekends, retirement is great not having to plan round work. Mike you'll love it.
