Well folks, I need to get on with arrangements for the hotel as we are on holiday next week. It looks like the 7th would mean more could come ( mega sorry Graham and Karen ) so the 7th it is...

I will ring the hotel tomorrow to clarify payment details, they may need the £10 a head deposit per person at the time of booking,

Will post again tomorrow night.

Talking

Mike
Have booked room for 7th @£59 B&B paid in advance no refund.

Young lady I spoke with said I need to speak with you about the party payment as you should liaise with the hotel event organiser about the arrangement. Unless I got that all wrong, because she sounded lovely and I'm positive she's blond.

Brian

You may have called before I rang and made the arrangements with the event manager.??

He has now set up a "Winters Party" event on their systems, which should mean anyone now phoning and quoting that will get the following arrangements:
  • Room reservation without pre payment
  • Asked to pay £10 deposit for the party night, each
  • You will get sent a menu and details of the need to pay full party price 28 days in advance.
I will contact them again tomorrow to clarify this is set up, and the room price.

So hold off til I post again.

Cheers

Right then,

The hotel have now recorded an event in their systems called the "Winters party"

If you call the reservation team on this number: ( not the general hotel number)

01242 229295

They will reserve your room, without taking prepayment, at £75 for a double room, with breakfast.

They will then put you through to the events team to take the £10 deposit for the party ,or take your number to call you back if the event team are not available.

If you want a slightly cheaper room then, through their website ONLY you can book the rooms at £69, double room, with breakfast. But they will take pre payment in full and no refund if cancelled. You need to go into "offers", then "special offers", then "December breaks" and choose the 7th and the hotel name. There are only a limited number of these roms.

If you do this you will still need to ring the event team to book into the party and pay the £10 deposit each.

The event team will send out a menu sheet and details of how to pay the remainder of the party fee in full.

It seems the events and rooms section of the hotel are separate so we have to do this slightly convoluted way.
