I envy you guys that have those good women, but the old joke is if it's got boobs or tires, sooner or later you're gonna have trouble with it. Fortunately, I did have supporting women in my life who liked motorcycles.... now widowed and happily single........

When I met my wife of now 25 years I had already owned bikes. When we started to get serious she asked if I would still be riding when we got married.
I told her. "I've had bikes before you were here and I will have bikes after you are gone."
She said. "Ok then, as long as I have a decent car to drive. That Fazer you have been looking at is a pretty good deal. Lets go get it."

My wife loves to ride with me and eventually we may get her a Can-Am.

In 2007, after getting home from a ride on my RT, Annie announced that she no longer wanted to ride with me. I started asking if I had done something to cause her decision and she cut me off and explained that she wanted her own bike. This happened in September in Fairbanks, AK. By the following July she had a new BMW F650GS and had ridden to the states and back. Since then she's had three other new Beemers, all GSs, ridden all over Alaska, the Yukon and the Montana region, in 35+ states, on and off pavement, and has over 125,000 miles on BMWs.

So, my solution to marital controversy is to give the woman exactly what she wants and try to keep up.

My wife hates bikes. She hates me riding a bike. She hates me for even owning a bike.

She never, EVER rides with me.

It's one of the big reasons we have marital bliss.

People always ask me, since I like bikes so much, and my wife likes to ride, why I don't get one of those helmet to helmet intercoms. The reason I give for NOT getting one is marital bliss. Once we put our helmets on we are both in our own little worlds and we don't have to talk to each other all day. Just another reason to like bikes.

Indeed! But to be fair, she's very understanding about it. She will often say something like, "it's going to be a nice day. Doesn't your bike have someplace to go?"

If she did ride, either with me or on her own, I can guarantee we would not have an intercom system.

Russ, I. Have the exact same situation and don't mind at all. She say's she's scared on a bike and some small cars and as long as she doesn't "forbid" me from riding or try to do that all is good.

In fact she's the one that encouraged me to go get a new fjr last year because she was afraid of me riding my antiques all over the country,,, all I could say about it was "yes dear" 😜
