Upgrading from gen 1 to gen 3

There's a higher mileage 2014 for sale near me that i'm thinking about picking up. What goodies can I transfer from my gen 1 to the gen 3? I'm thinking I can transfer my racetech shock, holeshot slip on mufflers, and givi SR357 luggage rack. Fairly certain that the canyon chasers crash bars won't transfer. I'm guessing the mirror mounts for my aux. lights won't either. I know that my nice RDL seat and windshields won't transfer as well.

Anything else I might be missing? Recommended upgrades for a gen 3?

* Racetech shock, I believe so yes
* Holeshot slipon mufflers, I believe so yes
* Givi rack has me confused because the Gen 1 uses an SR346, the Gen 2/3 uses the SR357 - so which one do you have on the Gen 1?
* Canyon crash bars, no
* Mirror mounts for aux lights, don't think so
* Definitely no on the RDL seat and windshields

Hope that helps.

Shock and mufflers will transfer no problem.
Mirror aux. light mounts.... which ones do you have? Gen3 up has recessed area in the fairing. Depending on what mounts you have, need spacers of some kind. You can probably make a spacer plate out of say 1/4" thick aluminum... think mirror extenders but way thinner.

That's great to know. I have the Wynpro mounts. It'll be no problem for me to machine a spacer to raise them up and out of the recessed pocket.

Didn't know that the Gen 1 rack was different. Guess I'll have to budget for a Givi rack as well.

Dave sold them with spacers for Gen3, more or less you can use a piece of aluminum round bar stock, cut yerself off a slice and drill a hole in it. Thread somewhere in another sandbox......
