Wow! If I had a bike with beautiful red paint like that I might also be tempted to throw myself in front of it on the way down. Happy to see your crash bars did what they were designed to do.

Those are not light injuries. Kudos for knowing when to call it quits and head home instead of trying to ride further. I wish you all the best with your recovery.

Hi, Chuck. As bad as your accident was, I am glad it wasn't worse.

That almost happened to me a couple of years ago. I was down in Houston pulling out of a parking lot. I was half way through my right turn when a car came whipping around the corner. A few seconds earlier and I would have become a hood ornament. I hit the brakes hard. Know what happens when you apply the brakes really hard in a turn?

Yep. Spilled the bike. Right foot was pinned, really pinned, under my canyon cage. A couple of strangers came by and lifted the bike off me. Unlike you, I was really lucky, nothing broken, just a badly bruised, sprained ankle.

Just noticed your new ride is about the same color as mine . Yours must be a 2018 or 2019 lol

Reminds me of a crash I had above tree line on Rollins pass. My foot got trapped under the bike as I went down and hyperextended my right knee. I rode all the way back to Denver pretty much without being able to extend my right leg, as it had ballooned up with fluid.
