2021 fjr?

Hey everyone, has anyone heard if there will be a 2021 FJR? I recently spoke with a couple of dealers, and have gotten different responses. One says there won’t be, the other couldn’t answer one way or another! I am asking because I recently destroyed my ‘16es against a guard rail at 130km/h (80+ mp/h)! Got lucky and only broke both bones in my right leg, had surgery to put in a pin from knee to ankle. Will probably be off work until spring, just in time to start riding again!
Thanks in advance,
Charles

There’s no indication that there won’t be a 2021. Usually later in the year when they put it on the website. Like really late in the year.

Hope you heal well. Could have been so much worse. Yamaha is always slow to release info on the FJR, maybe because it doesn’t change much from year to year. On the years that have had big changes they get info out sooner. There have been stories about the FJR not being Euro5 compliant but that probably doesn’t have much to do with US sales, if you are in US? Cannot tell where you are located? It will probably be February or March before any info is released.

being from europe where euro norms matter i can tell you that the bikes norms don't matter at all here in Belgium anyways but they might be looking to norm proof it for the future not sure how they are going to manage to do that with the fjr

Interesting fact as of November 2019 :
The 9% of the world that still uses mph as a unit of measure includes the USA, Myanmar, Liberia, and the UK as stated earlier. Most of the countries and islands in the Caribbean also use miles per hour, including Antigua, Bahamas, Barbuda, and St Kitts and Nevis.

[tangent]I live in a metric country, so Yamaha conveniently decided to import US spec bikes here. I have a speedo whose KM numbers are too small to read and a temperature gauge that reads in °F, which is meaningless to the entire population.[/tangent]

I read the 2020s were the last year for the FJR when the special edition was released earlier this year.

I’m surprised you can’t change that in the set-up menu?
