Just to add-
Looking ahead to a trip east and seeing my PR4GTs getting to the end, I pulled the wheels and went over to Rich's Yamaha for the usual Speed-E-service.
However, all they had on the shelf was Road 5GTs. I'd been assured that the 4s would be on hand (this place has a significant FJR business and does a lot of these tires) but they were out.
I took the 5s anyway and have to say, after the first 600 miles, they seem pretty darn good. I expected slower steering after putting R5s on our SV650, but not the case here.
I would even say they seemed to ride nice and what little curvery I've gotten done (ramps, really) has been satisfactory. No rain yet.
But since I'm planning that trip in a few days, I expect the heavens to open right on cue.
