think I'm not alone when I say I'm (we're) more than happy to help with this kind of stuff. None of us (here at least) want these attack to be sitting on (yet another) PC waiting to pounce on others.

My point about locking your credit is that you can do it and it doesn't cost a thing. You can get credit reports once a year (from each of the 3) for free. Life-Loc is famous for having the owner print his SSN on the side of an 18-wheeler.; assuring the world of their services. He got his ID stolen because of it (in spite of Life-Loc and him being the owner). These attacks and defenses are like a spiral. They do something we counter, so they do something new that we then have to learn to counter. Rinse and repeat.

Malware Bytes is good stuff. I use it too. I just don't leave it running after I've done a scan. Multiple AV programs running at the same time can lead to its own problems (the least of which is slowing down your computer). I run eSet antivirus only and launch/close MWB only to run a manual scan.

OTOH: Norton is a hog, eats computer resources, and is so hard to uninstall we quit using it at work years ago and sadly smirked when discussions drifted to how much Norton acts like a virus itself.

Ditto on quitting Norton, very much virus-like on its own. And at the time was not very effective.

I use AdBlock Pro for free on my MacBook Pro with no issues at all including speed. I mostly just use Safari.

AdBlock sure seems to have good marketing in spite of the "Pros" pulling back their curtain for us to see them at work behind the scenes.

I am a big fan of uBlock Origin. For me, it does a better job than Adblock plus. It's supported on Chrome, FireFox, and Safari.

That being said, I don't mind bypassing the ad blocker for websites that I enjoy when they request me to turn off my ad blocker. That's how some sites can afford to keep producing great content.

Im seeing the same things.

What is bothering to me is the adtracker links.

Ill hover my mouse arrow over the highlighted links just to see what they say before clicking on them.
If it isn't legit to me, I wont click on it.

Aggravating, to say the least.
Win10 here with current Edge updates.

This site is from a host of owned websites, correct?

That might be how the pay to keep these up...
Just my opinion

That's EXACTLY how they make money. We've even mentioned it several times. If not in this thread, in related threads about how the board works now that it's in corporate hands instead of the original creator.

DFW: Yes.

Thanks to all that posted we deleted ALL Norton files we could find and re installed MalwareBytes, I am paid up for 8 more months. Wife reset password scanned it and she ran scan disc. Bottom line it is a LOT FASTER now THANKS you guys saved me about $50.00 a month for me and my wife SS # to be protected and PC virus. For some reason I could NOT get MalwareBytes to open ( turn PC off/on) until we removed Norton .it expires tomorrow. Everyday a box pops up letting me know in X about of days Norton expires CLICK here to continue etc. If I turn MB off after scanning etc what protects the PC when I view porn??
