List of Things To Do

So this followed Jodie home:

It's a 2006 AE. 57000 miles and in really excellent shape. It was worth $2000 of anyone's money.

First thing to do ... Get used to that clutch. After a couple of short rides I think I will like it, but it's not my bike so the second thing on the list is to teach Jodie to ride it.

Issues:

Needs tires (I have some)
New battery

Cam chain is noisy ... new CCT

Minor leak from clutch cover.

That's it. That is all I can find that is wrong with it. It's barely worth putting it on the lift, but everything is just easier with the bike in the air. I can take care of the minor issues, check and change all the fluids (just to baseline the servicing), and have a poke around to see what else might benefit from some attention.
dmsantam and Bill Lumberg like this.

I'd get a new air filter. It's an extra PITA to just get to it so I'd have a new one on hand. A buddy had a tech day not too long ago for his new-to-him '08 and found a rat's nest inside the filter on his otherwise "very well kept" motorcycle.

Did it come with a Givi?

Congrats Jodie, lookin' good!!

Also, sent you a PM.

It came with frame sliders, Cee Bailey Screen, bar risers, highway-peg mounts (which I'll remove), a Givi rear rack, Throttle-Meister, a nice cover and a fancy stem-nut GPS mount. Other than that it's stock.

Bike was in the 2014 Butt-Lite and various other rallies, so it's had other stuff on it but it was all removed leaving no trace.

It will be lightly farkled with a few comfort and safety items.

Grip Puppies ... to take the edge off the nasty-feeling Yamaha heated grips. All Yamaha grips are too thin and hard.
Whelen LIN3 High Intensity LED rear light for better visibility in fog and spray.
Hyper-Lites
LEDs in headlights.
Provision for heated gear and possibly a top case and tank bag

Simple stuff.
